How to find us

There are a few car parking spaces available at the castle. You can reach them via Fürstenweg; at the end of the street turn onto Tiergartenstraße and then immediately turn right.
Parking is allowed in the designated areas.

A bus stop (for coaches) is located at the end of Fürstenweg. From there, it’s less than a 5-minute walk to the castle.

A large parking lot for motorcycles, cars, motorhomes, and buses is available for free at Wettiner Ring. You can reach the castle in less than 10 minutes after a short walk along Tiergartenstraße.

Park in Wassergasse on the right in the Lidl car park or also on the left for campervans and cars.

Approx. 7 min to the castle along Badergasse leading to the castle and follow the signs

or:

Continue driving along Haupstrasse B107 and head towards the centre at the 1st roundabout (Nicolaistrasse), then turn right into Schulstrasse. The Sophienplatz car park is only for cars

Approx. 10 min walk along Sophienstrasse or Schulstrasse via the market

or:

Continue from the 1st roundabout approx. 300 m to the 2nd roundabout, take the 1st exit on the right, park on Albertplatz and it is an approx. 15 min walk to the castle. Cars only

or:

Take the 3rd exit and follow the signs to the castle, some car parking spaces at the castle

Bus parking spaces:

• Two parking areas in the market. Ascending path to the castle or steps approx. 5 min.
• One parking area in Schuetzenstrasse. Please follow the upper castle signs Wettiner Ring
• Five parking areas at the end of the street «Wettinger Ring». Up the slope to the right - please drive straight towards the upper castle signs

Take the 2nd exit at the 1st roundabout and park on Albertplatz, walk to the castle approx. 15 min, for cars only

Continue driving to the 2nd roundabout and take the 1st exit towards the centre (Nicolaistrasse), then turn right into Schulstrasse. The Sophienplatz car park is only for cars

Approx. 10 min walk along Sophienstrasse or Schulstrasse via the market

or

Take the 2nd exit towards Grimma, parking on the right in front of the Muldenbruecke (also for campervans) or left on the Lidl car park where there are 3 bus parking areas 

Approx. 7 min walk along Badergasse leading to the castle following the signs

• GEITHAIN: continue by bus 628 (Regiobus) or 629 (Regiobus) to “Rochlitz Markt”, then transfer to bus 666 (Regiobus) or 620 (MDV) to Colditz
• GRIMMA: continue by bus 619 (Regional Bus Leipzig) to Colditz
• MITTWEIDA: take the city bus line B or F (Regiobus) to the bus station “Busbahnhof”, then transfer to bus 682 (Regiobus) to Rochlitz and continue with bus 666 (Regiobus) to Colditz
• NARSDORF: continue by bus 661 (Regiobus) to “Rochlitz Markt”, then transfer to bus 666 (Regiobus) or 620 (MDV) to Colditz
• TANNDORF: continue by bus 621 (Regional Bus Leipzig) or 626 (Regional Bus Leipzig) to Colditz
• The best drop-off point in Colditz is the bus station “Sportplatz” (sports field). From here, it’s less than a 10-minute walk to the castle.
